In 1939 War was again declared by Great Britain against Germany, Australia declared support by sending troops to the Middle East. Australian troops were quick to be put into the fight against Italian troops and General Rommel's experienced Afrika Corp. Australians gained the reputation of hard fighting but fair soldiers. Australian mateship was forged in the dust and open desert of Tobruk, Lybia. Whilst members of the 6 Battalion fought against overwhelming odds in Crete against German paratroops. Some of these troops were rescued by the Royal Australian Navy.

In 1941 Australia found herself with war on two fronts, when Japan suddenly attacked allied nations. With the fall of Singapore all that was stopping the invasion of Australian was members of the Militia or the Choko's who were part time soldiers. Members of the second Australian Imperial Force (AIF) along side the Militia saw bloody fighting on many Islands in the Pacific, whilst members of the Royal Australian Airforce fought in the skies from Britain to Darwin. The following figurines are a tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of those involved in the dark days of war between 1939 and 1945. This was total war with woman joining the Defence Forces to assist in the war effort.
